Founded in 2007, Meridian Permaculture
is the business of Hamish and Lindy MacCallum, permaculture designers, consultants, sustainable landscape designers and teachers. We are based in Central Victoria, near the goldfields town of Castlemaine.

In our ever changing environment we need to adapt our understanding of landscape to positively respond to the ever-increasing demands we place on the earth, not only the earth directly beneath our feet, but beyond our immediate sphere of influence. Seeing ourselves as an integral part of our landscape enables us to continue to build natural capital rather than continue the profligate depletion of resources so common in modern use of landscape. Permaculture is about designing our environment by replicating the patterns in the natural world, following the natural rhythms of energy through its phases of abundance and scarcity, responding to change with positive outcomes. Permaculture ethics and principles provide a guiding framework for designing for sustainable personal, household and community strategies.

Latest news! Hamish and Lindy get married under the 130 year old oaks by the lake at Fryers Forest Eco Village. A fully permaculture inspired wedding incorporating the ethics and principles of permaculture living was held on the 11th December. A full story of this amazing journey will be published soon!
